A Porsche Cayman GT4 RS could be considered

The Porsche Cayman GT4 is one of the most striking models of the brand of Stuttgart. The little sportsman took the engine of his older brother, the 911, and became a very capable machine. Now the rumors say that could reach another top of the range, the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS. This new model will be based on the new Cayman 718 and could be unveiled in the coming months.

However, it will not feature the main feature of the new sports car: its turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The Cayman GT4 RS would receive a six-cylinder in-line engine and 4.0 liters of cubing. It would be the same mechanics that is being prepared for the 911 GT3 and could arrive with a power of between 450 and 500 HP. A considerable leap bearing in mind that the current one stays at 380 hp.

It would be an adaptation that would need major changes, since the current model is developed for small and turbocharged engines. The Cayman GT4 RS would use an engine with twice the displacement and greater cooling needs, not to mention other elements such as chassis reinforcement, larger brakes, etc. Only time will tell if we get to see this model, although there is also talk of another interesting sport.

The same source quotes us that could arrive a model above the 911 GT3, would be the return of the Porsche 911 GT2. It would arrive with the engine of the current 911 Turbo S, although its power would increase until 650 hp. Although this model will not be equipped with all-wheel drive, it will be maintained with rear-wheel drive for the liking of the more purist. Although on the other hand, there will be no manual shift, but an automatic double-clutch PDK.
